Feather Yard Guide is an independent informational website for people who want to learn about birds visiting backyards across the United States. Our goal is to make everyday birdwatching, responsible feeding, and bird-friendly habitat choices easier to understand.
What you’ll find here
We organize guides around backyard bird identification, feeding and seed choices, feeders and accessories, hummingbirds, native plants and habitats, seasonal and regional birding, and bird safety and behavior.
How we approach our guides
We aim to use credible, publicly accessible sources and to distinguish established guidance from questions that depend on local conditions. Wildlife recommendations may change as scientific evidence and official advice evolve.
Independent and transparent
Feather Yard Guide is not an official wildlife agency, veterinary service, or ornithological institution. An illustrative image is not proof of a species identification. We do not describe products as hands-on tested unless the testing is documented.
