Information we receive
When you visit the website, the hosting infrastructure processes technical request information. Hostinger’s access-log interface includes the time of a request, IP address, requested resource, device or browser information, country, response size, and response time. We may also review aggregated traffic and error statistics to maintain and secure the site.
If you use the site search, your search words are included in the requested URL and may appear in normal technical logs. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to provide. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, identity documents, or other sensitive information by email.
The site currently provides editorial content without a public account-registration form, online shop, newsletter signup form, or WordPress-based contact form. These features may change, and this notice will be reviewed if they are introduced.
How and why we use information

We use WordPress and Hostinger for website hosting, content delivery, security, and the public contact mailbox. The current public site does not have a configured online store, affiliate marketing integration, newsletter marketing form, or third-party behavioral advertising integration. If we enable such features, we will reassess privacy obligations and update the relevant notices before they are used.
Cookies and similar technologies
In clean-browser tests of the public homepage after the October 2026 CDN cache update, we did not observe marketing cookies or third-party advertising scripts. WordPress may use technical cookies for administration and sign-in: for example, wordpress_test_cookie was observed when visiting the WordPress login interface. How long information is kept
We keep correspondence and information within our control for as long as reasonably necessary to answer inquiries, maintain legitimate records, address security concerns, and meet applicable legal obligations. Hosting access logs and technical records are subject to Hostinger’s systems and applicable service terms; an exact deletion period for all such records has not been independently established. We do not promise an unsupported fixed retention period. You may ask us about information relating to you using the contact address above.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to request information about, access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, or to object to certain uses. We will review it under applicable law and may need reasonable steps to confirm identity before disclosing or changing personal information. Please do not send copies of identity documents in your first message.

Feather Yard Guide is intended as a general informational resource for readers interested in backyard birds and does not offer services designed to solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can assess the request.
